Lobi Stars left full-back, Aminu Yusuf, has been invited by the head coach of Nigeria’s Under-20 National Team, Ladan Bosso, ahead of next month’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations, in Egypt.
Yusuf joins 34 others invited to contest for places in the team.
Scouted by Bosso when Lobi engaged the U20 side in a friendly encounter, last year at the MKO Abiola Abuja National Stadium, the youngster is blessed with excellent ball work and speed required by modern wing backs.
Although his side lost the friendly match, Yusuf was impressive on match day and wormed his way into the heart of Bosso.
Reacting to the development, Yusuf said: “I going to the U20 camp to strengthen the team. I am ready to strengthen the team and convince the coach.”
Also called the Flying Eagles, the team will play host Egypt, Mozambique, and Senegal, in group A.
All invited players will converge on Abuja, on Monday, as the team intensifies preparation for the tournament.
All four semi-finalists will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA U 20 World Cup, in Indonesia.
