The reelection bid of  the senator representing Benue Northwest Senatorial District, Dr. Titus Zam has hit a dead end as members of his Constituency have red carded him over his poor representation at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.

This development came after his colleague, the senator representing Kogi Central, Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan declared her over N2 billion empowerment for her constituents in Kogi State.

According to videos and photos of her empowerment items, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan gave thousands of salon cars for commercial purpose, Thousands of motorbikes, thousands of grinding machines, several trucks of food items and fabrics, several thousands of fertilizers, thousands of tricycles and many others to empower members of her senatorial district.

Unlike Senator Titus Zam who has been roundly condemned by his constitutes, the Kogi Central senator is presently being celebrated for empowering over 2,000 constituents as she marked two years with landmark projects in office as senator.

Apart from this, the senator has done the construction of two modern markets in Okene and Okehi, each with 80 shops, abattoirs, electricity, water supply, and toilets.

According to Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone constituents, their own senator, Mr. Titus Zam has neither done any empowerment nor embarked on any constituency project since he was inaugurated as senator in 2023 despite that he had taken over N850 million as his constituency allowances.

“Rather, he has been using pubic funds to build hotels for himself across Nigeria. Instead of him to emulate Natasha, an ordinary woman, Senator Zam has been using our Commonwealth to fight a local political battle in Benue state. As it stands, we are rising as a team to give him a red card. He has no chance to seek for reelection in our zone again” Chief Frank Mzondu, president of Benue Development Watch said on his Facebook page.

According to the people of Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone, Senator Zam should visit Kogi Central and see how Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has empowered members of her Constituency last week with about N2billion.

They further condemned the Benue Northwest Senator for diverting a whooping N850 million meant for Constituency projects to his personal use, leaving the zone with no single achievement to point at under him.

They also condemned the senator for failing to be a source of inspiration to his subjects just like Natasha just did despite that she just returned from a six month suspension.

Zam was condemned roundly on the social media by various pressure groups which accused him of betraying the trust, faith and confidence which was reposed in him by those that elected him as senator in 2023..

They however condemned Senator Zam for failing to be committed to service and inclusive development which they said is a reason federal presence has not been felt under him as senator.

“We gave him the sacred trust to represent us at the Senate but he betrayed us by failing to represent us well. We have decided as a district not to let him achieve his reelection even though there are reports that he is eyeing the allocations of the North Central Development Commission to bribe voters to vote for him in 2027.

While enumerating Natasha’s giant strides, the group said: ” She has also built new primary and secondary schools with teachers’ quarters, electricity, and water in the Fulani settlement of Osara, Abobo (Adavi LGA) and as well installed 14 solar-powered water systems across the five LGAs, including ten 50,000-litre and four 20,000-litre capacity projects.

“The installation of 2,000 solar-powered streetlights in communities across Ajaokuta, Adavi, Okehi, and Ogori-Magongo has also been achieved by Natasha.

“The construction of a police station housing quarters and provided a patrol van and electric speed bike for the Ihima Police Division has also been achieved in Kogi Central courtesy Senator Natasha.

“The Kogi senator has also done the distribution of eight 500KVA transformers across various communities.

“Senator Zam should emulate Natasha’s empowerment of 2,000 constituents with solar tricycles, deep freezers, sewing machines, gas cookers, farm implements, grinding machines, and cobbler kits.

“He should also emulate her training of 180 women and youths in modern trades, including drone piloting, renewable energy, advanced welding, and ICT, during her suspension period.

“The Zone B senator is busy stealing our Commonwealth while Natasha is busy commissioning a General Electric CT Scan machine donated by NLNG to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.

“She also unveiled the Kogi Central People’s Company Limited by Guarantee, an initiative modeled after Singapore’s People’s Association, to manage community assets, promote sustainable development, and ensure participatory governance. The company, she said, will oversee assets such as the new markets and electric vehicles to ensure they remain community-owned, with profits reinvested into scholarships, erosion control, and welfare projects for widows and orphans.

“Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan announced plans to commission a new maternity centre next month as part of her ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access for women and children but there has been no achievements by our own senator (Zam)”
