Sam Ode charges APC support groups on grassroot mobilization for 2027

Deputy Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, has charged the newly inaugurated executives of the “APC Benue South Diplomats for Tinubu, Alia/Ode 2027” to immediately develop and implement a comprehensive grassroots mobilisation strategy across all wards and communities in the Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections.

Dr. Ode who represented the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, gave the charge on Saturday, in Otukpo, during the official inauguration of the Zonal, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees of the group. He urged the executives to identify supporters, engage undecided voters, strengthen existing structures and maintain regular communication with the people, stressing that “every ward, local government, community and voter mattered in the quest for victory in 2027”.

The Deputy Governor described the 2027 elections as significant to the future of Benue State, adding that “the Alia administration had demonstrated commitment to rebuilding insproving infrastructure, strengthening education and healthcare, supporting the people and restoring confidence in government”.

He urged the group to educate the people on the programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly its economic reforms, while acknowledging that reforms could come with challenges, he stressed the need for patience, collective responsibility and sustained commitment to building a stronger Nigeria.

The Deputy Governor cautioned the newly inaugurated executives against provocative and abusive political engagements, urging them to promote issue-based, peaceful and responsible politics, emphasising that their conduct must reflect discipline, maturity and respect, while calling on them to work with established APC structures in the zone, and avoid parallel structures and unnecessary conflicts.

He commended Hon. Odeh Igbabe Nicodemus for his initiative in establishing and expanding the support group across Benue South, and urged youths and women to take ownership of the mobilisation effort through their energy, creativity and responsible use of social media.

He formally inaugurated the Zonal, Local Government and Ward Executive Committees and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through loyalty, commitment, discipline and hard work.

Earlier, the Convener and Leader of the APC Benue South Diplomats for Tinubu, Alia/Ode 2027 Support Group, Hon. Odeh Igbabe, described the organisation as a vibrant and dynamic support group based in Benue South, established principally to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Ode. He disclosed that the group had constituted nine Local Government Coordinators and 101 Ward Coordinators across the Benue South Senatorial District to mobilise the people to vote for APC candidates in the zone.

Igbabe said the group was ready to work with the APC campaign structure in Benue South, while appealing to well-meaning individuals and groups to support the organisation to enhance its activities.

The event was attended by prominent government functionaries and party stakeholders from Benue South, including the Head of Service of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ogbenyi; Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Ijaguwa Adamu; members of the Benue State House of Assembly from Zone C; Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Musa Suleiman Ujor; Chief Dr. Peter Ochijele, among others.
