Ortom describes Justice Ikyegh’s death as a big loss for Nigeria

Immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom says the death of the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Port-Harcourt Division, Justice Joseph Ikyegh is a huge and painful loss to the country.

Chief Ortom who said this in a press release signed by his media Aide, Mr. Terver Akase described Ikyegh as a distinguished Justice who was known for his sound judgments, forthrightness, and commitment to the rule of law.

He stated that the late Benue-born jurist made outstanding contributions to the administration of justice and will be remembered for fairness, integrity, and excellence in jurisprudence, the very attributes that earned him respect and admiration from his colleagues and other members of the public.

The former Governor pointses out that it was in recognition of Justice Ikyegh’s exemplary service to the nation and judicial acumen that he was recently shortlisted as one of the 22 Justices of the Court of Appeal for promotion to the Supreme Court.

Chief Ortom sent heartfelt condolences to the Ikyegh family and prays that God grants the deceased eternal rest.
