The national chairman of APC, Alhaji Ganduje faced the worst humiliation of his life today as the senator representing Ondo South, Jimoh Ibrahim who was also a governorship aspirant of the party in the just-concluded primaries hurled insults on him after saying that he (Ganduje) has no conscience.
Ganduje who invited all the governorship aspirants of the party including the winner, Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa to a peace-making meeting at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja today began his speech by thanking them for coming at a short notice.
The APC National Chairman pleaded with all the aspirants to forget about the past in the interest of the party, stressing that it’s time for them to accept the outcome of the primaries which took place last weekend.
In his sharp response, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim PhD blasted Ganduje, saying that he has no conscience. He added that he was unable to vote during the election despite that the national chairman fraudulently took a whooping N100m from him for members validation.
Ibrahim threatened that he would not accept the outcome, adding that nobody can tell him to accept the outcome of an election he said was never held.
Also speaking, the immediate past finance commissioner, Wale Akinterinwa said no election took place, noting that he had a drone video evidence to prove that no election took place. He stressed that he would not accept the outcome of the election that was not held.
Chief Olusola Oke, SAN in his own speech said: “You (referring to Ganduje) deviated from your guidelines totally. I am thinking about party members who were violently attacked by thugs that were freely deployed to scuttle the entire process. It is difficult to accept an outcome of an event that never took place”
Reacting, another aspirant, Gbenga Edema told the national chairman that he has just 48 hours to redress the injustice. “No election ever held in Omdo state” he added.
Ife Oyedele in his speech said: “Imagine, I couldn’t even vote in my ward. How do you organise an election that almost all the aspirants can not vote? Mr Chairman, what your men did was wrong”
On his own, Prof. Faduyile Francis said: “You asked us not to talk about the election. I am a pathologist, In any event postmortem, it is important to ascertain what happens so that we can prefer solutions. No election was held in Ondo state”
However, Jimi Odimayo, Diran Iyantan and Mayowa Akinfolarin and Soji Ehinlanwo said they had accepted the decision of the party. They urged Governor Ayedatiwa to take care of party members.
Reacting, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa said: “I plead with you all to join me. I have not filled out all the available positions because of a day like this. If I have filled all the positions, I would have overrun all of you in the election.
To save the governor from the wrath of his opponents, Ganduje quickly cut in and asked him to withdraw the statement even though Senator Jimoh Ibrahim told the governor that he was the one that would have been overrun had it been the election was conducted.
