The Chairman of the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Benjamin Omale has lauded Governor Hyacinth Alia for adding his voice to the ongoing agitation for a permanent seat for the Africa Continent at the United Nations Security Council.
Omale made his commendation in a press statement he sent to our reporter this morning, noting that Africa as permanent and credible members of the United Nations is long due for a permanent seat at the UN Security Council.
Recall that Governor Alia spoke in New York few days ago where he clamored for a permanent seat for Africa at the UN Security Council as a result of Nigeria’s contribution to peace and stability across Africa and the wider world
According to Omale, Alia’s push has confirmed his stand against insecurity in Benue state and Nigeria as a whole..
The Benue APC chairman who recently attended the party’s National Strategic Retreat in Maiduguri, Borno State said that being a permanent member of the UN Security Council will be of a big benefit to African countries as no United Nations sanctions, peacekeeping mission, or major action can go against their interest.
He added that having a permanent seat at the UN Security Council will enable the African continent to have control over world security decisions as the Security Council is the only UN organ that can authorize military action, impose sanctions, create peacekeeping missions and recognize new countries.
Omale stated further that being a permanent member will boost Africa’s political prestige and influence
as any country which the seat is given will be officially recognized as a major world power.
According to him, this will give such country a permanent seat at every major global negotiation, first-hand intelligence on all global conflicts, ability to protect its allies, protection for itself and allies.
The Benue APC chairman also lauded President Bola Tinubu on his Renewed Hope Agenda which he said has supported the growth of Nigerians since he assumed duties as president in 2023.
He also lauded Governor Hyacinth Alia over his achievements in all areas of governance just as he begged the people of Benue to throw their weight behind both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia during next year’s general elections.
Meanwhile, Chief Dr Benjamin Omale has last week attended the the All Progressive Congress National Strategic Retreat in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The retreat, which began on Thursday, September 24, and ended on Saturday, September 26, was themed “Strengthening Party Organization, Unity and Electoral Readiness Towards 2027.”
The three-day meeting brought together APC leaders and stakeholders to discuss party organisation, unity and preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Omale’s participation represented the Benue chapter at the national strategic engagement, which is expected to focus on strengthening party structures, improving coordination and enhancing electoral readiness ahead of 2027.
