……Condemns Alia’s high-handedness

The chances of the Governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth who is also the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress to make a headway in Benue South in 2027 have hit a brick wall as his lead pointman and senatorial candidate of the APC in the zone, Rt. Hon. Franciss Ottah Agbo has finally backed the strategic partnership being led by Senator George Akume and Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD.
Recall that the strategic partnership was initiated by the duo of Akume and Ortom in order to jointly work to ensure the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections in Benue state.
According to Agbo who briefed his close political allies, he decided to join Senator George Akume in order not to incur the wrath of the Presidency which is suspecting that the Omale-led camp of the All Progressive Congress isn’t willing to support President Bola Tinubu and all the party’s National Assembly candidates in 2027.
Agbo who agreed to work with any governorship candidate presented by Akume in 2027 stated further that he would not be part of Governor Alia’s efforts to work with the Allied People’s Movement against the APC National Assembly candidates.
To him, working against the APC National Assembly candidates is like working against the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in Benue state..
Agbo pressed further that Governor Alia has secretly appointed some of his political associates who will coordinate all the twenty three local governments of Benue State for Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in the presidential election.
This newspaper gathered that Francis Agbo met with top members of Senator George Akume’s political family in Abuja recently and pleaded that the SGF should direct his people in Benue South Senatorial Zone to adopt him and work with him to be able to defeat his rival in the People’s Democratic Party, Comrade Abba Moro in the coming election.
According to him, he has to strategically dump the Governor’s camp and pledged his total loyalty to Senator George Akume for him not to lose his senatorial election against Senator Abba Moro, noting that the governor no longer enjoys the support of the people of Benue State..
Agbo was quoted as saying while speaking at a meeting which was attended by Hon Godwin Obla, Comrade Onminyi Emmanuel and some other political associates of his in Abuja that: “How can you call yourself a governor and you are disobeying Presidential Directives even up to the extents that you are now working for another party to defeat your president in a State which you govern.
“Senator George Akume is the leader of the APC in Benue and to avoid Abuja wrath, it’s safer to hide under him than to hang with Alia who is unable to save himself not to talk of saving another person”
Also, Agbo also condemned the governor for his high-handedness, stressing that the way he is handling the All Progressive Congress in Benue state is capable of making President Bola Tinubu lose the state to the opposition in the next general elections.
