The Inspector-General of police, Usman Alkali, has declared one of the prominent Yoruba nation agitators, Johnson Kolawole Fagbewesa, wanted for an act of treason.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who briefed our crime reporter on the development said the suspect had been on the wanted list of the police since July, 2021 that he was captured on camera as one of those that carried out a bloody protest for Yoruba nation in Ibadan.
CSP Adejobi said Mr. Fagbewesa has been at large since his colleagues were arrested for act of treason against the unity of this country.
The police spokesperson added that efforts by the police to apprehend the suspect were abortive as he was always being tipped off each time a process of arrest was to be carried on him.
According to the police officer, Fagbewesa was involved in the protest for Yoruba nation that claimed several lives in Jos, Plateau state in 2021 after which he returned to Abuja and continued threatening the peace of the country with protests from the Yoruba nation agitators in Abuja.
Recall that Namadi Kanu, the convener of Biafra nation has been in detention for about two years since he was arrested and charged for treason by the Department of State Security.
