Fats have emerged on how Senate President Godswill Akpabio pocketed N500 million out of the N1B bribe which the senators of the 10th Assembly received from some ministerial nominees that were asked to take a bow and go during the ministerial screening which ended this week.

Sahara Reporters reported that only N2m each was sent to the bank accounts of 108 senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the Clerk of the Senate as directed by Akpabio who got half of the N1b bribe from the ministerial nominees.

With N2m sent to each senator, the Clerk of the Senate had only sent N216 million to the 108 senators excluding the Senate President who has been accused by his colleagues of trying to expose them by making a statement on the floor of the Senate that some money had been sent to their various bank accounts by the Clerk in a recorded video which went viral this afternoon.

Most of the senators are wondering why Akpabio made that statement on a live television when ordinarily, their constituents shouldn’t know that such money was given to them for their holiday.

It was gathered that some of the ministerial nominees had reportedly deposited the bribe totalling N1b to the office of the Clerk of the Senate a week to their screening.
