Group lauds Court for stopping APC NASS candidate substitution

National Youth Vanguard has lauded the Judiciary for ruling against the substitution of National Assembly candidates of the All Progressive Congress across the country.

The pressure group made the commendation in a press release posted on Social Media this evening, stressing that the ruling will enable the party to present credible candidates for the 2027 elections.

According to the group, the Judiciary has once against proved to be the only succour for common men.

Recall that a Federal High Court while ruling on a case filed against the substitution of National Assembly candidates by the National Working Committee yesterday stated  that status quo should be maintained in uploading names of candidates on INEC portal.

The also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to maintain its integrity by shuning plans by some Abuja politicians to do what isn’t lawful.

“With this ruling, one expects INEC to maintain its integrity and obey the rule of law by making sure that those that won the primaries at the Ward level are presented as the party’s candidates.

“Failure to obey the rule of law in this case will spell doom for the All Progressive Congress and this will affect the chances of the party at the general elections.

“Once again, the Judiciary has proved that it can be relied on. The ruling is historic and we want all the parties that are involved to follow suit” the statement said.

The group also accused some Abuja-based politicians of sharing the funds in Abuja instead of using same to take care of their primary Constituency.

The statement reads: “They have been disconnected from home because they don’t come home. All they so is come to Benue and organize thanksgiving masses without any achievements to show for their offices in Abuja”
