Members of the Benue State House of Assembly have condemned the hardship being faced by the State civil servants as a result of the poor way which the Staff Verification Committee set up by Governor Hyacinth Alia is handling civil service issues.
This was contained in the third paragraph of the press release issued by Raphael Akume, the Chief Press Secretary to Speaker Aondona Dajoh this afternoon.
According to the press release by Raphael Akume, the Benue lawmakers had set up an Ad-hoc Committee to look into the Verification of Staff/Civil Servants’ Salaries and Wage Bill.
“The committee has called on the following Committees set up by the executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to appear before it unfailingly tomorrow 26th July 2023 at the Benue State House of Assembly complex by 10 am to explain the general outcry caused by their recent activities” the statement reads in parts.
Those to appear before the House of Assembly Ad-hoc Committee are members of the Staff and Salary Verification Committee set up by Governor Hyacinth Alia to investigate SUBEB/TSB, NUT and NULGE. Others are the Auditor General of State, and Local Government.
Also, members of the House of Assembly Ad-hoc Committee are:

3. Hon. Gyila Solomon- member
4. Hon. Manger Manger -member
5. Hon. Yanmar Ortese- member
6. Hon. Micheal Audu- member
7. Hon. Kennedy Angbo- member
8. Hon. Blessed Onah- member
9. Hon. Bemdoo Ipusu- member
10. Hon Abraham Z. Jabi- member.
According to the statement, the Benue State House of Assembly appealed to those affected by the recent verification, Unions, groups, and association not to go on protest and allow the Adhoc committee set up by the Assembly to carry out its fact-finding mission of resolving the problem.
