The chairman of the Unity Caretaker Committee of Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Benjamin Omale has cautioned political gladiators against their acts of politicizing the security challenges which the state is facing presently.

Omale who spoke in a telephone interview with one of our reporters was reacting against a statement credited to the Member representing Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Tersee Ugbor where he blamed the policies of the State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia for the persistent killings in the state.

According to Omale, this isn’t the time to apportion blames by politicians but a time for all and sundry to rally round Governor Alia to be able to solve the security issues around Benue State.

Chief Omale who said that a bad man strikes faster than a good man stated that the governor has been trying his best to ensure that the killings in the state stop.

Saying that Father Alia is a peaceful and passionate Catholic Priest, Omale noted that the governor cannot be going around encouraging the killings of innocent Benue people.

Omale noted that insecurity isn’t Benue state thing alone, stressing that many states across the Federation are also facing similar attacks from marauders.

“No one should apportion blames or attack Governor Alia over what the state is witnessing today. Other states across the country are also facing similar challenges and nobody is blaming their governors for the attacks. Rather, they have been rallying round their governors to tackle the attacks ” Omale said.

The Benue APC Chairman pressed further that their is no policy of the governor that is aiding insecurity in the state as alleged by the federal lawmaker his statement.

He also noted that all the inflammatory statements coming out of the political gladiators in Benue state aren’t encouraging, stressing that they should desist from it.

Finally, Omale lauded Governor Alia over his efforts and the provision of required logistics to all the security agencies in the state to protect Benue people from further attacks.
