The Chairman, Unity Caretaker Committee of the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Benjamin Omale has warned political actors in the state against exploitation of security issues and destructive politics in the state.
Chief Omale who issued this caution in a press statement which he personally signed and made available to journalists in Makurdi this afternoon noted that it was with a deep sense of responsibility and concern for the future of Benue State that he wrote to advise those playing politics with the lives of innocent Benue people to desist from the act.
The statement reads:
“I write this letter. Our people have suffered enough from insecurity, economic stagnation, and deliberate sabotage of progressive efforts. It is unacceptable that certain political actors continue to exploit security issues and engage in destructive politics that hinder our collective growth.
“Security is the foundation of any meaningful development. Without it, businesses fail, lives are lost, and our communities are left in perpetual fear. Any individual or group using insecurity as a tool to settle political scores or to destabilize the government is working against the interests of the people. Such actions must be condemned and resisted by all well-meaning citizens.
“Furthermore, deliberate efforts to frustrate success, block developmental projects, or undermine leadership for selfish political gains only serve to drag Benue State backward. This state belongs to the people, not to a select few who wish to manipulate power for their personal ambitions. We must rise above petty politics and work together to ensure that governance serves its true purpose—uplifting our people and securing their future.
“In this regard, I must commend His Excellency the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his relentless commitment to infrastructural development. His administration has taken bold steps in constructing roads, improving healthcare facilities, enhancing educational institutions, security and implementing / executing projects that directly impact the lives of our people. These efforts are commendable and should be supported by all, irrespective of political affiliations. Development is not about party politics; it is about the people and their future.
“I call on all politicians, irrespective of party affiliation, to put the interest of Benue State first. Let us work together to tackle insecurity, support progressive policies, and promote peace and stability. Those who continue to play dangerous games with the security and well-being of our people must know that history will not be kind to them.
“Enough is enough. The time for selfish politics is over. The people of Benue deserve safety, prosperity, and genuine leadership. Let us unite for the greater good”
