The member representing Gwer Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Asema Achado has mocked the governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia for sleeping and praying during the periods he should be attending to official issues.

Achado who is one of the major stakeholders in the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress was reacting to the governor’s announcement where he reportedly suspended the already-concluded primaries for the Guma State Constituency bye-election which held today.

Recall that opinion leaders in Benue have started castigating the governor for suspending the primaries at 2pm today even though the exercise was concluded by the Electoral Committee sent from the National Headquarters of the party since 10am.

Reacting on his verified Facebook account, Hon. Achado said: “I love my Governor, hence my advice to him two months ago, to sleep, pray in the night and work in the day.

“The nationwide House of Assembly primary election was scheduled to hold today by 8am. In Benue State, it started about 9am and ended about 10am. Our prayerful Governor was locked up in prayers with his officials till noon.

“The APC Electoral officials conducted the primary election and left, while our prayerful Governor was praying or sleeping. How do u suspend a process which has been concluded? A process you have no control over. Haba”

Recall that Governor Alia had this afternoon addressed a press conference where he suspended the primaries, citing security issues as his main reasons.

But those in the know said that the suspension was not unconnected to the failure of the governor’s anointed aspirant to win the primary election.
