Former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN has congratulated the Governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia and the good people of the State as the state marks fifty years since creation.
Chief Aondoakaa who spoke in his congratulatory message which was made available to journalists in Makurdi this afternoon applauded the people of Benue State for their resilience, unity, and rich cultural heritage.
The Former Chief Law Officer noted that Benue State has survived and endured numerous challenges, including political transitions, economic hardships, security concerns, and periods that tested the collective strength and resolve of its people over the past five decades.
According to him, the ability of Benue to stand firm through these trying periods is a testament to the courage and perseverance of its citizens and firm stand of past leaders of the State.
Chief Aondoakaa described the golden jubilee as a moment for sober reflection on the journey so far and a call to renew the collective commitment to purposeful leadership and people centered governance that prioritizes peace, justice, and development.
While celebrating the milestone, Aondoakaa emphasized that Benue’s future must be anchored on inclusive governance, security of lives and property, economic empowerment, and youth development.
He stressed that the state stands at a critical crossroads where deliberate leadership choices and responsible political engagement will determine whether Benue fully attains its vast potential.
He further called on political leaders, elders, youths, and stakeholders across party lines to rise above divisions, embrace dialogue, and work together in the overall interest of the state, adding that Benue deserves leadership that listens, unites, and delivers tangible development.
