Benue SUBEB boss moves to carpet N150m fraud allegation

Facts have emerged on how the chairman of Benue SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba is using security operatives in the state to harass journalists in Makurdi with an aim to cover up the allegation of N150m fraud traced to her.

According to information, Dr. Adagba had recently applied for over N150m from the administration of Governor Alia with an explanation that she was taking some Benue pupils to Indonesia for a Quiz competition.

She however diverted the funds according to investigation with no tangible explanation about the Indonesia Quiz competition.

As a result of the public outcries that followed the allegation, some journalists and media personalities in the state approached Dr. Adagba to state her side of the report which claimed that she didn’t utilize the said N150m as projected but she practically called their bluff.

She was quoted to have said that she is sufficiently close to Governor Alia who would use his executive power to cover up the fraud.

To kill the story, the SUBEB chairman has been arresting and detaining reporters that are investigating the matter.

Some of them were last month invited to the DSS headquarters in Makurdi where they were forced to sign an undertaking that they would not go on with the investigation. They were also forced to sign a letter of apology to the SUBEB chairman.
