The immediate past governor, Chief Samuel Ortom has appealed to all residents of Ndzorov to continue to be good neighbours to their fellow residents, irrespective of religious belief, noting that the best in the sight of God is the most pious.
Ortom gave the address December 23, 2024 while disbursing Christmas’ rice, pigs, cows and cash worth millions of Naira to his kinsmen in Gbajimba.
He further assured that he will continue to guarantee the welfare and security of Benue people as well as their properties for as long as he lives irrespective of inofficial status.
He therefore called on Benue youths to be more venturous to earn a lawful living. He also urged them to be law abiding and always report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agents rather taking laws into their hands.
Chief Ortom reiterated the resolved of party leaders who’re praying fervently for an end to the numerous challenges confronting the state as a result of improper management.
Dr. Ortom expressed gratitude to God for the privilege and mercy he has granted him to serve in different capacities of government, saying that there’s no need to hold unto the feelings of yesterday. He said he would rather focus on what the future holds for him.
He urged his kinsmen to continue to place high regards to constituted authority so as to engender sustainable peace that is needed for the growth and development of the nation as they wait for determination of case before supreme court .
In his speech, past principal special Assistant on special duty, Abraham Kwaghngu lamented the state of Affairs in the state citing the scrapped of snake bite treatment which was successfully domesticated by the past administration to be handled by government for overall interest of victims in the state.
Abraham said the former governor has however reestablished and relocated the gesture back to General Hospital, Gbajimba for continuation of the treatment bearing its financial implication upon himself as usual.
Furthermore, Abrahams urged the people not to be deceived by fair-weather politicians but always look up to their own for direction since no other person came home to share with them during the season of love aside Ortom .
On their separate remarks, Zaki Faga and Elder Taakper expressed their innermost appreciation to Chief Samuel Ortom for relocating the snake bite treatment back home, stressing that the gesture had hitherto averted mortality rate in Guma and beyond.
They further assured of their continued support and prayers to guarantee his ascension to higher places in the society.
