This is not a good time for Mr. Terrence Kuanum who is the Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume as he has been roundly accused of leaking classified information of the former governor’s office to some Abuja-based journalists as well as some pressure groups for publications.

According to reliable reports from the Office of the SGF, Terrence would later return to Senator George Akume to demand funds to bribe another set of journalists to do a damage control.

The embattled Special Adviser on Public Affairs to Senator George Akume is known for using his Benue Youth Forum, a pressure group in Makurdi to blackmail politicians and extort money from them.

He had used the pressure group to blackmail the likes of Senator Gabriel Suswam, Senator Abba Moro, Governor Hyacinth Alia as well as Senator George Akume with whom he works today as a media aide.

Investigation by Nigerian Concord Newspaper revealed that some top Aides of Senator George Akume have started raising questions on how some classified secrets of the SGF and his office are getting to the media especially to the hands of Abuja-based journalists who are close friends of Terrence Kuanum.

Kuanum according to reports has also been accused many times of diverting all the funds which Senator George Akume has been releasing to him as stipends for members of his media team especially those worming with Dan-Morgan Ihomun-led BAMET.

Kuanum has been challenged many times over this but he keeps denying the allegation. Our leader, Chris Tarkaa recently had a showdown with him at the SGF’s residence in Maitama and openly accused him of being the saboteur within the George Akume political family. He denied as usual but I think the matter is being handled at the leadership level. They are planning to make the SGF himself aware of how his trusted media handler has been selling his information to journalists and would still come back to him to collect millions of Naira in the name of damage control ” a member of BAMET said.

Apart from Chris Tarkaa, the Director of Information of the SGF Office, Mr. Segun Imohiosen had also confronted Terrence Kuanum with facts that some Abuja-based journalists reliably informed him that he was behind the media attacks which the office and the occupant have been experiencing for some time.

The source pressed further that BAMET leader, Dan-Morgan Ihomun was the first to discover that Mr. Kuanum was selling Senator George Akume’s information to his enemies and also to newspapers like Sahara Reporters, Huhu Online, African Examiner, African Searchlight and others which have been carrying negative stories about the SGF and his office.
