The leader of the All Progressive Congress in Kwande who doubles as Governor Hyacinth Alia point man in the area, Prince Moses Ternenge has rejected the 2027 senatorial ambition of a former governor of Benue State, Mr. Gabriel Suswam, saying that it’s wrong for Sankera axis to think of returning to the Senate after the area must have spent eight full years at the Red Chambers by the time the current occupant, Mr. Emmanuel Udende completes his tenure in 2027.
Ternenge who made his position known through his representative, Mr. Uta Stephen Aondona, during the burial ceremony of the mother of kwande west state House of Assembly, Hon. Pharmacist, Thomas Dugeri stated that he will do everything to stop Suswam, a Sankera son who had also done a term in Senate from returning back to the Red Chambers in 2027.
In his speech, Ternenge assured the people of Kwande that the Local Government is well positioned to produce the next Senator for Benue North-East, noting that it’s excessive greed that will make a Sankera son to think of representing the zone at the Senate in 2027.
He further stated that, based on the principles of equity, fairness, and justice, it is the turn of Kwande Local Government to occupy the Senate seat. He emphasized that the leadership is committed to ensuring that Kwande is not sidelined in the forthcoming political dispensation.
Ternenge however encouraged sons and daughters of Kwande to present themselves for the Senate race, assuring them of unwavering support from party stakeholders and leaders across the Local Government.
He gave a firm assurance that the mandate rightfully due to Kwande will not be taken away again, expressing confidence in the unity and resolve of the people to achieve this objective.
He promised to further strengthen ongoing advocacy for balanced representation in Zone A, as political activities begin to intensify ahead of the next electoral cycle.
