Renovations begin at Aper Aku stadium as Lobi Stars resume training

Nigerian Concord Newspaper can authoritatively report that the much awaited renovations of Aper Aku stadium in Makurdi have begun.

A visit by our reporter to the stadium shows that the contractors handling the renovation works is doing all to make Aper Aku a standard for the Nigeria Premier Football League matches (NPFL).

Recall that just past week, the Benue State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Barr. Teryima Nguher alongside the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr John Akume handed over Aper Aku Stadium officially to the contractor for immediate commencement of renovation works.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has resumed training ahead of the second round of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on Monday.

Recall that the NPFL had embarked on a three weeks break to enable the players and club officials in the country to participate in the General elections.

Ahead of next weekend’s resumption date, the Makurdi-based side regrouped at the McCarthy Stadium and was put through drills under the guidance of the Club’s coaches.

During the day’s training session, the players were in their usual mood of excitement, assuring the fans of their total commitment to ensuring that the club secure a playoff ticket at the end of the League season.

Some of the players who expressed this optimism during a brief talk with the Club’s media team were Moses Teshuan, Joseph Atule, Daniel Atsaka, Emmanuel Daniel, and Alex Jerry.

When pressed further on their level of preparedness, the players said the spirit is high, and as such, the team will not create room for complacency, they promised to redoubled their efforts towards achieving the stated goal.
