The Akaajime central community of Mbatseese, Mbakpegh, Ipav Gboko local Government area of Benue State have a sigh of relief as the former First Lady of Benue State, Her Excellency, Chief, Mrs Eunice Erdoo Ortom PhD intervened in their suffering of total blackout of about eighteen months.
Mrs Ortom who is the PDP candidate for Benue North West senatorial seat in the forthcoming general elections on the 2026 democracy day celebrations, 12th June, 2026 visited the community where she announced her contribution for restoration of electricity transformer to the community.
Addressing the community at Elder Hembaor Ukor’s residence, the founder of Eunice Spring of Life foundation explained that, she was moved by the challenges faced by the communities as a result of electricity problem which has affected the economy of the community of over 700 household, said, gesture was meant to support them in alleviating the suffering of the people.
Represented by the Special Advisor to the former Governor of Benue State, Dr. Joseph Antyo, the zone B senatorial hopeful said, the donation to be delivered to the community before 20th June, 2026.
In their responses, leaders and Stakeholders of the community, Elder Tyover Akaajime, Elder Hembaor Ukor, Elder Abera, Prophet Jiji Jack Elder Sase Aondowase, Elder Uwouku, Mrs Fanyam Tamave, Mrs Kukase Gwakyaa as well as Elder Angera among many others all appreciated Dr. Mrs Ortom for the good gesture, according to them, the community had been thrown in the dark for over eighteen months due to the damaged transformer.
The community representatives who assured the former first lady of their total support for her 2027 Senate ambition, reminded her of the umpteenth good gestures of her husband, His Excellency, Chief Dr. Samuel Ioraernyi Ortom who apart from many appointments given to sons of the community during his time as the Executive Governor of Benue State had donated 500KVA transformer to the Tomonyiin part of Akaajime community among many other good gestures.
