The governorship ambition of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Benue state, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, yesterday received huge boosts as the entire people of Kwande axis promised to give him a bloc vote in the 2027 general elections.
According to the people, Chief Samuel Ortom who is the leader of the party in Benue state has acted as a good leader by giving governorship to a son of Kwande axis.
They also lauded him for returning Senate to Kwande after several years of agitations, stressing that the area will ensure that Kwande produces senator for the first time in 2027.
Recall that Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa SAN yesterday led Stakeholders and candidates from Kwande intermediary consisting of Kwande and Ushongo Local Government Area to express deep appreciation to the leader of the party and former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, for providing what they described as purposeful leadership within the party, which they noted led to the zoning of the governorship position to Kwande.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Kwande, Elder Jonathan Chaver and Elder Boniface Ukende thanked Chief Ortom for what they described as fairness and justice to the Kwande people through the recent political arrangements within the party. Similarly, Chief Mrs. Veronica Gajir, who spoke on behalf of the Ushongo people, also appreciated Ortom for his leadership and commitment to equity.
Responding, Chief Ortom reminded the gathering that “a man receives nothing except it is given to him from above,” urging all those who emerged as candidates to carry along and reconcile with their co-aspirants who were not favored in the process. He emphasized the need for unity, inclusiveness, and collective effort ahead of the elections.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the House of Representatives candidate for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Hon. Moses Mkeenem; the State Assembly candidate for Mata State Constituency, Chief Bemgba Iortyom; and the State Assembly candidate for Mbagwa State Constituency, Hon. Bemseen Agugu, to Chief Samuel Ortom.
