Hon. Kester Terna Ikyenge, PhD, a very close associate to the embattled former senator Gabriel Suswam has joined the 2027 Sankera House of Representatives race.
Dr. Kester who served under Suswam as a Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties before he became the executive chairman of Logo local government and also the Member representing Logo State Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly between 2015 and 2019 will be contesting under the People’s Democratic Party.
Recall that the embattled former governor who is standing trial for a N3.1billion theft cunningly defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress last month, a move many observers described as a plot to escape being imprisoned by Justice Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Despite the defection, several of Suswam’s close associates who worked with him when he was governor between 2007 and 2015 chose to pitch their tents with Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD who is the leader of the People’s Democratic Party.
Recall that Chief Ortom is also the leader of the Strategic Partnership between the All Progressive Congress led by Senator George Akume and the Benue State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party.
This newspaper gathered that Kester Terna Ikyenge chose to remain in the People’s Democratic Party as a result of the quality leadership style of Chief Samuel Ortom who is also a member of the party’s Board of Trustees representing Benue State.
