The immediate past commissioner for Education in Benue state, Professor Dennis Ityavyar has called on the kingmakers and the chiefs of Mbaakor to allow God’s guidance in the selection of who to fill the vacant stool for the kindred as a result of the demise of Late Ortar Zaki Anongu Tor Kpaaye.
Professor Ityavyar made this plea at the weekend while paying his last respect to Late Ortar Zaki Anongu Tor Kpaaye at Mbaakon Mbadede, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue state.
Speaking at the funeral service, Ityavyar described the late monarch who spent 65 years on the throne as a traditional ruler whose life was worthy of emulation.
According to the development expert, the monarch’s legacies of promoting peaceful coexistence among his diverse subjects will be remembered and upheld.
“He was a distinguished traditional ruler who dedicated his royal duties towards building a united community both in his role as a key member of Mbadede Council of Chiefs”, he said.
Prof. Ityavyar also expressed appreciation to the traditional council lead by Ter Kunav Chief Nyiyongu Achiaku for their dedication to the service of their communities and ensuring peace and tranquillity in their respective domains.
He prayed that God Almighty grants the deceased eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lost.
Until his death, Tor Kpaaye was the Kindred Head of Mbaakon.
