Facts have emerged about how some paid media influencers who are apparently working for the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress to demarket the Consensus governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the 2027 general elections, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN by falsely promoting a narrative that he is unable to manage his business.
Recall that some paid APC propagandists went online yesterday with a narrative that the PDP candidate wouldn’t be able to administer Benue State because he wasn’t able to manage his business, MIKAP Nigeria Limited.
They however forgot that as a result of the rising profile of MIKAP Nigeria Limited, a former US Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador James Entwistle together with his wife came the company to have a strategic partnership.
Also, a former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo visited the company with a large entourage which had the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD and some of his Cabinet members.
The report forced Nigerian Concord Newspaper to set up a fact-finding team led by senior reporters in the Newspaper outfit to investigate thr claims by the propagandists.
During our finding, it was gathered that MIKAP NIGERIA LIMITED which was incorporated in Nigeria on 28th December 1990, as a private limited liability company with registration certificate no. RC 160,854 has authorized, issued and fully paid up share capital of N200 million (two hundred million Naira) divided into 200 million ordinary shares of N1 each.
According to our findings, the Company is aimed at promoting commercial agriculture, agro-processing, energy trading, and development consulting.
It was gathered that Mikap Nigeria Limited which has made agriculture attractive has also contributed to the rice value chain.
Recall that since 2011, the Company has invested in processing of tropical paddy to polished parboiled rice with a capacity of 33 metric tons per hour under the brand name of ‘MIVA RICE.’ The factory is located at Kilometre 5, Gboko Road, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
Investigation at MIVA Rice headquarters indicated that the Company is wholly staffed by Nigerians at the moment and maintains 150 permanent staff on its employment roll along with 57 ad hoc workers.
Apart from the above, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on national assignment are accepted to serve with the Company; just as students from various Universities and other higher institutions of learning are allowed to undertake supervised Industrial Training (SIWES) at the facilities of the Company.
Meanwhile, MIKAP Nigeria Limited has registration with relevant regulatory and professional bodies.
Both the processes of Mikap Nig. Ltd and the Miva Rice brand of sortexed polished head rice have received the following certifications:
(i) Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) quality Mandatory Conformity
Assessment Certificate No.: 001309 and the Mandatory Conformity Assessment
Programme MANCAP – NIS Logo No. FT-3358;
(ii)full certification/registration with National Agency for Food, Drugs
Administration and Control (NAFDAC) – NAFDAC Registration No. B1-2421;
and
(iii)certification by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council as a Registered Exporter with Exporter’s Registration Certificate no. EXC: 00396 and REG no NE/0064/BN/14.
This newspaper gathered that the processes of the Company have also been assessed by the following professional
bodies with the accompanying recognition:
(a.) Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) and given Award of Quality Excellence; and
(b.) The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) and given Award of Manufacturing Excellence.
The company has gained national and international recognition for promoting indigenous rice production in Nigeria through modern rice milling technology and high-quality standards.
We gathered that Its activities have attracted attention from international development agencies and partners, including USAID and GIZ, alongside other agricultural development stakeholders interested in food security and agricultural value-chain development in Nigeria.
