Benue APC Youth Vanguard, a youth wing of the Benue state chapter of All Progressive Congress has alleged plans by loyalists of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume to disrupt tomorrow’s local government election in the state.
Reacting in a press statement made available on the social media this morning, the APC youth wing led by Comrade Isaac Ikyange urged the federal government to hold Senator Titus Zam, Emmanuel Udende, Pius Akutah, Matthias Byuan, Abba Yaro, Sekav Iyortyom and other stakeholders of the Benue APC liable if any violence breaks out in any party of the state tomorrow.
The group also charged the Nigerians police authority to quickly swing into actions by combing all the hotels in Makurdi and bring out the thugs that had been brought into the state capital from Nasarawa, Taraba and two Niger Delta states for the purpose of causing crisis during the election.
According to the Benue APC youth wing in the statement, there is no reason for the planned violence except that the stakeholders are angry that the structure of the party in the state wasn’t handed over to the SGF.
“We have it on a good authority that Honourable Matthias Byuan is the one leading the contributions of the funds they plan to use to disrupt the election tomorrow” the group said.
The group also called on the Alhaji Ganduje-led National Working Committee of the ruling party to sanction whoever that is found culpable in the planned violence so they can explain why they want to collapse the party that gave them the positions which they occupy at various levels today.
The Benue APC youth wing however threatened to resist any attempt by “Senator Zam and his cohorts” to make Benue state a battle field tomorrow..
