To whom much is given much is expected. This is a clear case of the Member Representing Gwer Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Arc. Austin Asema Achado.
Achado was roundly elected to represent his federal constituency in 2023 just like other federal lawmakers In Benue State but, his unbeatable achievements since he assumed duties have qualified him for a reelection.
Reports available to this newspaper showed that the people of Gwer East and West will be voting massively for President Bola Tinubu as a result of the federal presence which Achado has been able to bring to the federal Constituency.
During a fact-finding mission to Gwer Federal Constituency, people that spoke with our team of assessors described Achado as a visionary leader, driven by passion, zeal and determination to transform his constituents ascend to leadership positions in the society.
“Achado has demonstrated effective leadership by empowering others and transforming Gwer Federal Constituency. He is not just holding authority” one of his constituents wrote.
Despite the security challenges facing Gwer people, coupled with his contributions (financially and morally) to curb the insecurity, Achado has always proved to be a representative who prioritizes the well-being and growth of his people and understands these intricacies of leadership.
Checks revealed that Achado has transformed his Constituency beyond measurable metrics and has already won the hearts of his Constituents with his track records of achievements.
Few of his achievements are the facilitation of the building of a two Storey building of Naka Police station with quarters, which attracted Police Area Command to Gwer West Local Government, installation of transformers at Aliade, Howe, Taraku and Naka, scholarship and support to students from his Constituency studying abroad, another 10million scholarship for indigent students studying at University Mkar.
Apart from the above, Arc. Achado has rolled out free Jamb registration for candidates for Gwer East/Gwer West constituents. He has also ensured the provision of farm inputs such as fertilizer, rice, sprayers and cash to Gwer East/Gwer West Constituents, Installation of solar lights in Gwer East/, Gwer West local government areas, rehabilitation of Divisional Police Headquarters in Aliade, Gwer East Local Government.
Importantly, Achado doesn’t just give people fishes to eat. He also teaches them how to get fishes by themselves. This gesture led to his employment of over 50 Gwer East/Gwer West sons and daughters into Federal Civil Service and Facilitation of recruitment of over 60 constituents into Nigerian Police Force.
He has also effected the electrification of Tse Alaigu, Ikyaghev Council Ward in Gwer West Local Government Area, facilitation of the establishment and siting of a National Open University in Aliade, which so far,three blocks of Storey buildings have been completed and the school about to commence academic session in September 2026, construction of police outpost in Taraku Gwer East Local Government Areas, Scholarship support to many Law students in different institutions, donation of motorcycles to his Constituents. This is apart from the initial donation of cars to his Constituents.
On legislative duties, Arc. Achado has proved that he isn’t not “I support the Motion” lawmaker. Records at the National Assembly showed that he has sponsored so many bills and moved lots of Motions, including Motions against armed Fulani Herdsmen killings in Benue State.
Gwer constituents made it known that the federal Constituency has never got it right like this, and since the return of democracy. They noted that Achado’s achievements are unbeatable and will earn him a second term .
