Fidelis Mnyim, the most incompetent and compromised Attorney General in the history of Benue By Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi

One still wonders why the Governor of my maternal state, Benue, Father Hyacinth Alia is still keeping Barrister Fidelis Mnyim who happens to be the most incompetent and compromised Attorney General in the history of the state in his Cabinet till now.

Or can we say that there is a hidden secret that makes the governor to continue keeping a man who has defrauded Benue State by cheaply allowing more than ten Garnishee Orders against the state government to fly unchallenged?

Fidelis Mnyim according to findings has caused the state government to lose several hundreds of millions of Naira as a result of his secret deals with those seeking Garnishee Orders against the government in which he serves.

Let’s ask Father Hyacinth Alia why he still believes so much in such corrupt and compromised man to continue to be his Attorney General. Is there any hidden secret? If there is, they should speak up now.

In October last year, Governor Hyacinth Alia publicly suspended Mnyim, saying that he went and joined a case which the state governors across the Federation instituted against the EFCC without the approval or consent of his administration.

The governor in that very press conference assured the general public that Investigation would be conducted and Mnyim would not be returned if truly he didn’t get an official permission from the state government before he joined the suit on behalf of Benue State.

Members of the public were made believe by Alia’s media handlers that Mnyim truly erred until the governor, after few weeks announced his reinstatement without giving any formal update if truly the incompetent Attorney General joined the suit without the permission of the state government.

Bringing Mnyim back clearly means that the governor doesn’t have a heart of his own. Why would he bring someone he suspended for committing such serious offence back to office through the back door? Doesn’t Father Hyacinth Alia know that he still owes Benue state people a duty to explain why he returned Mnyim back or should the public accept that the Attorney General joined the suit with an express approval of the state government? We won’t let this slide unanswered.

Recall that few days ago, the state government lost nine local governments to the Austin Agada-led faction of the All Progressive Congress at the Tribunal as a result of Fidelis Mnyim’s incompetence. To worsen the situation, Mnyim who is now complaining of a judicial terrorism opened his eyes and allowed Governor Alia to lose his own local government, Vandekya to the other faction. It’s a big slap and in a sane society, someone like Mnyim would have honourably resigned or be fired by the governor. Why hasn’t been fired?

Governor Alia, the public is waiting for that untold story about why you returned your Attorney General back to work even when you haven’t confirmed if he joined the suit against the EFCC with or without the approval of your administration.
