The senatorial ambition of the immediate past first lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom, PhD soared higher yesterday as a group of aggrieved stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress in Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone decided to throw their weight behind her senatorial ambition.

The group of APC stakeholders in Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone under the leadership of Chief Joshua Kulugh in a press statement obtained by this newspaper stated that their decision to support Dr. Ortom’s ambition in the People’s Democratic Party is a result of illegal imposition of candidates on the ruling party by Governor Hyacinth Alia.

The group said that they were left with no other option than to team up with the PDP candidate since it seems that the wishes of the APC stakeholders are no longer respected.

The group said that it has started drawing supports for Dr. Eunice Ortom across all the local government areas in Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone, adding that their support for her won’t stop their support for President Bola Tinubu at the general elections.

They lauded Ortom for the roles she played as Benue first lady. They stated how she used her Eunice Springs Foundation to help several women, children and the vulnerable people when she was the first lady of the State.

According to them, the former first lady will bring succour to the people of Zone B if she is given an opportunity to serve in a higher position of responsibility.
