The senator representing Benue Northwest Senatorial District, Titus Zam, PhD has been accused of diverting some federal government palliatives worth hundreds millions of Naira meant for his Constituents to an unknown destination.
According to Benue For Good Governance in a press statement signed by its president, Ugbor Terhemba Esq, the federal government through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA had since October 2024 released some vital palliatives to Senator Titus Zam based on his official demand for them.
According to the group, the palliatives according to NEMA were meant to be distributed to constituents of Benue Northwest but the whereabout of the said palliatives are yet to be ascertained even four months after they were released to the senator by NEMA
The group however called on the governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia to investigate the allegation and ensure that the palliatives are released to the original owners just like he did in the case of Hon. Terser Ugbor when he diverted multimillion naira palliatives released to him by NEMA to a private warehouse in Makurdi.
The group also called on Senator Titus Zam not to tow the path of Hon. Ugbor who criminally diverted the palliatives meant for his Constituents to his personal use until he was caught by Governor Alia who impounded and shared them to the IDPs.
