The Benue State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has described Dr. Emmanuel Agbo an imposter and political con artist peddling and sponsoring fake news for selfish and mischievous reasons.

The People’s Democratic Party was reacting to a fake Certificate of Return which Emmanuel Agbo paraded on the social media this morning to claim that he was the governorship candidate of the party for the 2027 general elections.

The party in a statement signed by its State Secretary, Comrade Dan Nyikwagh, unequivocally and categorically stated that Emmanuel Agbo is not and has never been its Governorship Candidate for the 2027 general elections.

According to the party, any claim, publication, video, or public statement suggesting otherwise is a deliberate falsehood, a calculated act of impersonation, and a clear attempt to deceive the good people of Benue State.

“Emmanuel Agbo is an imposter and a political con artist peddling and sponsoring fake news for selfish and mischievous reasons” it noted.

The statement reads further that: “We urge all media houses, social media platforms, and well-meaning citizens to completely disregard him and anything associated with his fraudulent claims.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Benue State PDP has, through a transparent and unanimous consensus process duly affirmed by party leaders, stakeholders, and members, recognized Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, as the authentic and legitimate Governorship Candidate of the Party for the 2027 elections, a process that was duly monitored by the nation’s electoral umpire body, INEC.

“This decision reflects the collective will of the Party and has been widely endorsed across the State.

“The PDP will not tolerate any attempt to sow confusion or undermine the unity and progress of the Party in Benue State. We have immediately commenced the necessary constitutional and legal steps to expose, confront, and decisively deal with Emmanuel Agbo and all impersonators of his kind.

“Impersonating a party candidate is a serious offence, and the full weight of the law will be brought to bear on anyone engaging in such criminal conduct.

“We call on the good people of Benue State, the media, security agencies, and the general public to remain vigilant and to treat any narrative promoting Emmanuel Agbo as PDP Governorship Candidate with the contempt it deserves.

“The PDP remains focused, united, and ready to rescue and rebuild Benue State under the capable umbrella of Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN”
