This newspaper can authoritatively report that the governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has brought over two thousand Fulani herders and political thugs from his state and the neighboring Nasarawa state into strategic local government areas of Benue state ahead of the March 18 governorship election.
The plan according to inside sources is to use the Fulani herders to attack PDP chieftains and youths across the state in order to successfully manipulate the election in favour of the APC governorship candidate, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia.
Inside sources also said that with El-Rufai in the plan to set Benue state on fire is the governor of Katsina state, Aminu Masari who was the original link between Alia and leaders of the Fulani herders association in Nigeria.
