The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Hausa/Muslim Community in Makurdi today visited the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, to endorse his candidature and pledge support for his political aspiration.
Receiving the delegation, Chief Aondoakaa assured them of inclusivity, promising that his administration would recognise and accommodate all communities, irrespective of ethnicity or religious affiliation.
He said he holds the Muslim Community in high esteem, recalling the love, respect and brotherhood shown to him by his former boss, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, and his family.
Chief Aondoakaa also promised to restructure the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and ensure meaningful consultation with members of the community on the best approaches to addressing insecurity in the state, including attacks allegedly involving suspected armed herders.
Earlier, members of the delegation, including Hon. Yunusa Garba, Hajiya Larai Baiwa and Sheikh Aliyu, expressed their support for Aondoakaa’s candidature and assured him of their commitment to his political aspiration. They also pledged to mobilize their members across the state in support of his governorship ambition.
As a show of solidarity and cultural affinity, the delegation dressed Chief Aondoakaa in traditional Hausa attire.
