Alia’s SSG, adviser, others suspended from APC as rift with Akume deepens

The rift between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume and his estranged political godson and governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has thickened as the executive committee of All Progressive Congress in Kwande local government today suspended the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Joseph Alakali indefinitely.

Another member of Governor Alia’s Cabinet that was suspended is Hon. Terngu Shawon, Special Adviser to Governor Alia on Political Relations

Others are Dooôron Agogo, Hon. Anumve Geoffrey and Hon. Gboko Shawon, APC Chairman Usar council ward who was accused of creating parallel party organs/factions.

The Local Government Executive Committee further suspended the Vice Chairman, Hon. Terver Mase for impersonating the office of the party Chairman, Hon. Terdoo Kenti.

The suspension which was announced by the PRO of APC in Kwande local government, Hon. Peter Terwase Adzongo
followed their inability to appear before the Disciplinary and Fact Finding Committee for indulging in illegal activities such as creating of parallel party organs/factions, regulation of party decisions, engaging in dishonest practices and non payment of party dues.

This is in line with the provisions of Article 21.2 of the APC constitution 2022 as amended.

Their suspension will be forwarded to the Zonal Party Chairman (Zone A), Hon. Barr. Vincent Uji, from there it will move to the State Working Committee in line with the guidelines and operations of the party.

Finally, the APC local government executive committee maintained their position that the Caretaker Chairman of Kwande local government, Rev. Mark Hule is not a registered member of the party therefore, warned him to stop parading himself as a member of the party.
