Agbese rolls out N12M Bursary Scheme

The deputy spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese has rolled out a whooping N12M Bursary Scheme to support his constituents as they resume for a new term in school.

Tagged “Back to school bursary scheme”‘ the funds will go round all the local governments within the federal Constituency, a media note from the office of the House of Representatives deputy spokesperson said.

“We understand the enormous burden on parents during this period, and the difficulty for our children/ wards to return to school in January, hence our earlier promise in September.

“It is on this note that we have devoted N12,000,000.00 as cumulative savings from our constituency allowance to support 1,200 students with our Back-to-School bursary scheme.

“This will be implemented in batches and our team has already commenced disbursement in Okpokwu Local Government Area. Other LGAs will follow. Full details will be published.

“We wish to reassure our loving constituents that other initiatives and interventions are on their way. Also, be assured that every piece of legislation we advance will be geared toward meeting the needs of the people who depend on us.

“Therefore, we seek your support and prayers as always. Thanks and may God bless us all” Hon. Agbese himself said in a statement.

Commending Agbese for the Bursary Scheme, the Ado Local Government All Progressive Congress (APC) appreciated and commends the efforts of the federal lawmaker over a swift students intervention programme he tagged “Back to School Bursary Scheme” implemented to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in his constituency.

This scheme comes at the right time and we must commend you for remembering our students knowing fully well that January is a very tough month, most especially for the parents who will make sure that their children go back to school.

With this swift intervention, you have indeed reduced the burden for both the parents and the students in your constituency and we must applaud you for this great initiative. You have not only proven to be a reliable leader with a track record but silenced your mockers and mischief-makers.
