The factional chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Benue state, Comrade Austin Agada was yesterday evening disgraced by members of Senator George Akume political camp in Gboko.
The disgraceful incident happened at the SGF’s residence in Gboko after he returned from Makurdi where he and his men went to attend a peace-making meeting with the camp of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
President Bola Tinubu had last week given a directive that both Alia and Akume should have a meeting where they would resolve the crisis within the ruling party in Benue state.
Recall that at the meeting, Agada who had been promised to be pronounced as the state chairman of the party could not even get close to where the leaders were seated.
Rather, Agada was sandwiched among normal invitees at the meeting where Chief Benjamin Omale was duly recognized by Senator George Akume as the authentic state chairman of the party.
After the meeting, Agada who was visibly angry returned with Senator George Akume and his entourage to his Gboko residence where he (Agada) tongue lashed the likes of Senator Titus Zam, Senator Emmanuel Udende and Chief Christopher Tarka.
In his words, Agada expressed his dissatisfaction that Senator George Akume failed him by not pronouncing him as the state chairman of the APC in Benue state at the meeting despite that he was assured till the last minutes before the meeting .
Agada who was shouting on top of his voice inside one of the living rooms at the SGF’s residence was cautioned by Chris Tarka who eventually instructed some party thugs to throw him out of the compound when it became clear that he was not ready to calm down..
