The Senator representing Benue South at the Senate, Comrade Abba Moro has face intense heat as analysts are accusing him of politicizing insecurity in Benue State.
According to a Kano-based public affairs analyst, Comrade Innocent Anebi, the Benue South senator is dancing on the graves of terrorist attacks victims at a time the federal government is overwhelmed with insecurity.
Anebi stated that Abba who has not assisted in finding a solution to the continuous killings in the state and who has always abandoned Benue South people as they face security threats has suddenly found his voice because the 2027 General Election is near.
The activist faulted Moro over his reckless attacks on the government of Benue State by blaming the government for not safeguarding Benue South but left out the President who is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces that controls the repressive state apparatuses in his blame game.
His words: “For me, the Senator is simply politicizing insecurity and this is misleading, and like it has been widely opined, Senator Moro’s politicization of insecurity amounts to dancing on the grave of our brothers and sisters. The Senator should allow the dead to rest in peace! He hasn’t helped the security agencies and the local vigilantes to fight crimes.
“The Senator just recently reportedly distributed some motorcycles to security agencies because his insensitivity to insecurity in Benue South was criticized. We cannot even say the motorcycles will reach the security operatives until the beneficiaries speak out!
“Senator Moro is reactive, and he only reacts to curry political favours because he is known for politicizing everything, including the lives and properties of our people. That explains why he reluctantly visited Otukpo-Nobi only after he was accused of dancing on the grave of those killed by the Fulani marauders. He visited them without doing or taking any step to help the community regain its peace.
“The question on the lips of discerning persons is: what does Senator Moro use the over N30b that had been allotted to Benue South under his charge, for public good”
Anebi pressed further that it is ridiculous that Abba Moro who has underperformed is suddenly finding his dimed voice to discredit the Benue State government.
He said: “This was a man who abandoned the Akweya, Akpa people in 2024 by junketing to the US, Europe and Dubai, when Fulani Militia slaughtered Akweye people. There was a mass burial and Senator Moro didn’t even care to send a representative or relief materials to the community.
“He thinks by attacking the state government, people will see him as a defender of Idoma interest. Never. Moro is in politics for his personal aggrandizement. He is attacking the government because he is not being patronized. Moro is attacking the government because he couldn’t access Okpokwu LGC funds and also because he wasn’t allowed to appoint the BENPOLY Rector. Don’t forget that since 1999, Okpokwu LGC funds were his cash cows”
He pressed further that Senator Moro has no moral right to blame the state government for the insecurity in Benue South, noting that yhe entire country is overwhelmed with crimes, criminalities banditries and terrorism.
He stated that Senator Abba Moro who has refused to utilize public funds to support the security of Benue South which he represents should take the first bullet. “Senator Moro should first tell Benue South what he has done with the over N30b that has accrued to Benue South in the last 7 years” he added.
