Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Principal Special Assistant on National Programmes, Civil Society, Voter Education, and Strategic Interventions, Reverend Solomon Semaka has tactically dumped the All Progressive Congress, APC in Benue State.
This move was made known by Semaka on his verified Facebook Account this afternoon where he openly declared his “total” support for the reelection bid of the Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Dr. Philip Agbese of the Labour Party.
Agbese, a popular critic of Governor Hyacinth Alia and his administration is a member of Senator George Akume political family. He joined the Labour Party as a result of the internal crisis between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Ado/ ,Okpokwu /Ogbadibo Federal Constituency is known for attacking Governor Hyacinth Alia verbally at public gatherings. In 2024 during Senator George Akume’s birthday ceremony, he tongue-lashed Governor Alia by calling him several unprintable names in the presence of everyone including national figures at the occasion.
Meanwhile in a press statement he made available to the public on Facebook this afternoon, Solomon Semaka who is one of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s top Aide stated that he will stand in solidarity and in love with Agbese of the Labour Party to defeat the preferred candidate of Governor Alia and the All Progressive Congress in 2027.
According to him, his appointment with the Governor wouldn’t make him become
unwise to betray Agbese who he said he can never betray for any reason. “I am not too unwise to betray brotherhood for fleeting exigencies. No amount of wisdom can defy the truth and the reality. No amount of politics can taint the dignity of true brotherhood. No wisdom can support betrayal” he added..
Semaka who realized the consequences of his actions (supporting a known political enemy of Governor Hyacinth Alia who he is presently serving as a Principal Special Assistant) stated further that he is ready for the outcome of his decision. “I bear all that comes with my decision with grit , courage and deep strength and faith in the future” he said..
