Benue Intelligence Watch has raised an alarm over planned invasion of the State Secretariat of the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress.
The planned invasion by the dissolved Austin Agada-led state Exco according to the group in a Statement signed by its Director of Press, John Ochoga was a follow up to a recent Appeal Court judgement.
The group said events have overtaken the judgement which Agada is planning to use to invade the state Secretariat of the ruling party next Monday.
Benue Intelligence Watch further stated that some thugs have been attached to Agada and his people in order to carry out the invasion successfully.
The group however called on President Bola Tinubu and the National Working Committee of the ruling party to call Austin Agada and his sponsor to order so that they won’t create tension in the state with their planned invasion.
The group also called on all the relevant security agencies in Benue state to be on the alert as plans are being made by some enemies of the party to cause confusion.
Recall that Senator George Akume and Governor Hyacinth Alia have been locking horns over the control of the Benue APC.
Immediately the governor took over in 2023, the party divided into two factions. The Agada-led faction was loyal to Senator George Akume while the Benjamin Omakolo-led faction was loyal to the governor.
To stop the factionalization in the party in Benue state, the National Working Committee of the party dissolved both factions and set up a Caretaker committee to be led by Chief Benjamin Omale.
After some months, the tenure of the Caretaker committee led by Omale was renewed as a result of the achievements the party recorded under him.
However, Omale was legitimately elected as the substantive state chairman of the Benue APC during the last state Congress.
