Independent investigation by Nigerian Concord Newspaper showed that giving automatic tickets to non performing federal lawmakers in Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress may make President Bola Tinubu lose the state to the oppositions in the state despite the love they have for him as Nigerian president.
Also, our independent investigation revealed that the likes of Gabriel Suswam if given a ticket to contest for the Benue Northeast Senatorial seat won’t win half of the entire senatorial zone as a result of his poor performance and bad representation as a senator between 2019 and 2023. Public opinion poll confirmed that a fresh person must be given the APC ticket in the Senatorial Zone or the party will lose to the Opposition parties.
Recall that there are reports that President Bola Tinubu has given a presidential order that all the serving federal lawmakers should be automatic tickets for their 2027 reelection bids.
Governor Hyacinth Alia however said that the issue is just a prayer and not a presidential order, stressing that the national Secretariat of the ruling party through Professor Nentawe Yilwadta has declared that there will be no automatic for any elected lawmaker at the Federal level.
This prompted Nigerian Concord Newspaper to conduct a massive opinion poll across the twenty local government areas of Benue State where it was discovered that APC will lose to the opposition parties if the likes of Senator Titus Zam from Benue Northwest, Senator Emmanuel Udende from Benue Northeast, Hon. Sesoo Gboko from Jechira, Hon. Sekav Iortyom from Buruku, Hon. Hon. Dickson Tarkigir from Makurdi/Guma, Mrs Regina Akume from Gboko/Tarka and Hon. Terser Ugbor are presented as the candidates of the party.
Findings further showed that the above mentioned federal lawmakers have performed poorly so there is a likelihood that President Bola Tinubu will also lose the state to the African Democratic Congress if they are on the ballot courtesy return tickets.
Several of their constituents complained during the opinion polls that these lawmakers don’t come home to give supports to the people that elected them in 2023.
The were further accused of diverting Constituency allowances running into many billions of Naira without anything to show for it.
It was however gathered that for Tinubu to win his reelection in Benue state, the non performing federal lawmakers must be replaced with fresh people.
