Frontline People’s Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has fiercely condemned the deadly attack on Ankpali community in Apa Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric, inhumane, and a direct assault on the peace and security of the state.
The late-night attack, which occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, reportedly claimed the lives of over ten persons, with several others still missing. The incident has thrown the entire community into grief, with families displaced and residents living in fear.
In a strongly worded reaction, Chief Aondoakaa expressed deep pain over the killings and extends his condolences to the affected families, stressing that the continuous targeting of innocent citizens is unacceptable and must be brought to an end.
The former Attorney General and Minister of Justice however called on security agencies to immediately track down and bring the perpetrators to justice, and urges government at all levels to step up decisive actions to safeguard vulnerable communities and prevent further bloodshed.
Also, Chief Aondoakaa reiterated his commitment to the protection of lives and property in Benue State, insisting that no society can thrive under the weight of persistent violence and insecurity.
