A former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAan has called on the people of Benue State to rise against the renewed attacks by bandits across the state.
Chief Aondoakaa said this yesterday in Kwande during the burial service of a former Benue State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and elder statesman, Late Hon. Aloysius Wuam Agaa, who died at the age of 91.
In his speech, the former chief law officer of the Federation urged the people of Kwande and Benue State as a whole to arise, unite and take decisive actions in protecting their communities while also calling on authorities to intensify efforts towards restoring peace and security in the affected areas.
While condoling with the immediate family and the entire Kwande nation, Aondoakaa also extended his sympathies to the Tor Kwande and the people of the area over the renewed attacks that have claimed several lives in recent times. He lamented the persistent security challenges confronting communities in Kwande and other parts of Benue State, stressing that the continuous loss of innocent lives is deeply troubling.
Aondoakaa who joined family members, political leaders and the people of Kwande to mourn the passing of the decreased described the late Agaa as a committed leader, a bridge builder and a man whose life was dedicated to service, peace and the political development of Benue State. He noted that the late elder statesman played a significant role in strengthening democratic values and mentoring younger generations of leaders across party lines.
The “Ivaanayange i Tiv” attended the funeral alongside notable political leaders including the Leader of the PDP in Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom; Senate Minority Leader, Senator Comrade Patrick Abba Moro; Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Barr. Pius Akutah; and Executive Director Finance of the Federal Housing Authority, Hon. Mathias Byuan, PhD, among several other stalwarts of both the PDP and APC in Benue State.
