The Northern Coalition for Good Governance has accused the Executive Director of Finance, Federal Housing Authority, Mr. Matthias Byuan of sponsoring media attacks against the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwadta.

According to the group, the media attacks being sponsored by Byuan against the APC national chairman is a direct attack on President Bola Tinubu who is the leader of the party in Nigeria.

The group in a press statement signed by its National coordinator, Alhaji muazu Othman and made available to journalists today said that the motive behind the social media blackmail is to force the national chairman to restore the dissolved state executive committee of the ruling party in Benue state led by Austin Agada .

The statement reads in parts: “Despite that the tenure of the Agada-led State Executive committee has expired, some Abuja politicians are still pushing for its restoration during the NEC meeting slated for December 15 and 16, 2025.

“As a matter of fact, they have resulted in blackmailing Professor Nentawe Yilwadta by misleading the public that the governor of Benue State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia bought him a mansion worth N2billion Naira is Maitama area of Abuja.

“Part of their social media blackmail which they aim to use to force Professor Nentawe to restore an illegal person as the Benue State chairman of APC is that the governor has also bribed him with a juicy contract worth N3 billion and has as well financed the construction of a church project in the national chairman’s village”

The group condemned these allegations, urging the accusers to mention the address of the mansion which they said Governor Alia purchased for the APC national chairman.

The group also tasked the accusers to give full details of the N3billion contract which they claimed on the social media that Governor Hyacinth Alia awarded to Professor Nentawe Yilwadta.

“If truly they are sure of their claims, they should be able to provide the address of the mansion in Maitama and also give details of the N3billion contract.

“They have mapped out a strategy to force the NWC led by the national chairman to restore the dissolved state executive committee through the back door but sensing that the task may not easily scale through, they now commissioned some social media influencers to blackmail the national chairman.

“However, our primary investigation has shown that it’s Mr. Mathias Byuan that is bankrolling the social media blackmail against the national chairman of the party that gave him the position he is occupying
