Ortom gets Vote of Confidence from Tarka PDP

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tarka Local Government Area of Benue State has passed a vote of confidence in Chief Samuel Ortom, the immediate past Governor and current leader of the party in the state.

During a solidarity visit to Ortom’s residence in Makurdi, party stakeholders, along with local government and ward executive committee members, expressed their support. The delegation was led by Engr. Victor Ukaha Dzungwe, a former Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives.

While moving the motion for the vote of confidence, the PDP Chairman for Tarka Local Government, Hon. Sughter Iorliam emphasized the necessity of publicly recognizing Ortom’s leadership. He described the former governor as a guiding figure for the party who deserves commendation for his fatherly role.

Also speaking, Engr. Ukaha lauded Ortom’s leadership qualities and affirmed the Tarka chapter’s unflinching support and loyalty to him. “Today, we pledge our steadfast support and loyalty to our leader, and we are committed to following your footsteps on this journey,” Ukaha stated.

Responding, Chief Ortom expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership in Tarka for their confidence in him. He reaffirmed his commitment to guiding and supporting party members, particularly the younger generation, in achieving their aspirations.

“I have chosen to remain in politics to mentor the younger ones. This is how I believe I can show my appreciation to God for the blessings in my life,” Ortom declared.

The former Governor encouraged young politicians to have alternative career paths and not to rely solely on politics for their livelihood, calling for unity within the Tarka chapter of the PDP.
