Mata state Constituency of Ushongo Local Government has reaffirmed its unalloyed support for the PDP Governorship Candidate, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa SAN, declaring its commitment to mobilising the people of the constituency for his victory in the 2027 governorship election.
The declaration was made yesterday when a high powered delegation made up of political establishment in Mata, comprising all former Council Chairmen from Mata, former councilors, ex-supervisors, past government appointees, and critical grassroots mobilizers who have shaped politics in the area for decades paid a solidarity visit to Chief Aondoakaa.
The delegation led by an elder statesman, Elder Atim Ate said the visit was aimed at demonstrating their solidarity with their son and brother, while sending a clear message to detractors and agents of division who, they said, were attempting to create disunity among the people.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Leader of the PDP in Ushongo, State Assembly Candidate Hon. Bemgba Iortyom, former BESIEC Chairman, Dr. Tersoo Loko, former Ushongo Chairmen; Hon. Joseph Asawa and Hon. Wuese Tyopev, and elder J.I. Use, unanimously pledged their commitment to the Aondoakaa project. They assured the PDP governorship candidate that Mata people would mobilise extensively and work to secure overwhelming votes for him and other PDP candidates in the 2027 elections.
They emphasised that the visit was not merely symbolic but a reaffirmation of the bond, trust and confidence between Mata Constituency and Aondoakaa, stressing that the people were united in their resolve to support his aspiration.
Responding, Chief Aondoakaa expressed profound appreciation to the delegation for the show of solidarity and confidence in his candidature.
He assured the people of Mata that “Mata is my home,” adding that he holds the people in very high esteem and would continue to cherish the relationship and bonds that exist between them.
The former Attorney General of the Federation called on the people of Mata to remain united and intensify their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged them to support not only his governorship bid but also the candidatures of PDP Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Thomas Tyolumun Unongo; House of Representatives Candidate, Hon. Moses Mkeenem; and the PDP State Assembly Candidate, stressing the need for a united vote for the party’s candidates.
He expressed confidence that with sustained grassroots mobilisation, unity and commitment, the PDP would record a decisive victory across Ushongo and the entire state.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation and dressing of Chief Aondoakaa in Tiv traditional regalia.
