The Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barrister Sam Ode, PhD today lauded his boss, the governor of the State, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia over the FITCH Ratings upgrade which was recently awarded to the state.
Dr. Ode, PhD made the commendation in a media note he personally posted on his verified Facebook Page this night.
The statement reads:
I am filled with pride and joy as I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Executive Governor, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on the outstanding Fitch Ratings upgrade recently awarded to Benue State.
The elevation of our Long-Term Issuer Default Rating from ‘B-’ to ‘B’, and our National Long-Term Rating from ‘A-(nga)’ to ‘A(nga)’ with a Stable Outlook, is a direct reflection of Governor Alia’s pragmatic and visionary leadership. This is a powerful affirmation that Benue is steadily becoming a resilient, investment friendly state.
Under his stewardship, we have seen key economic indicators improve remarkably from enhanced fiscal performance and efficient debt servicing to the prudent management of federal allocation receivables and the growth of microeconomic activity. These developments, as rightly noted by Dr. Raymond Asemakaha of BIPC, are hallmarks of the Governor’s strategic reforms and inclusive governance.
I commend His Excellency’s bold commitment to economic diversification and sectoral transformation. His reforms have laid a solid foundation for sustainable development and restored investor confidence in Benue, both within and beyond Nigeria.
