Nigerian Concord Newspaper can authoritatively report plots by the Austin Agada-led faction of the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress to announce the suspension of the State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia from the party immediately after the parallel state Congress they have fixed for Tuesday.
This newspaper can also report that two top officials of the Benue State House of Assembly in collaboration with the National Assembly members inside Senator George Akume’s political camp are working together with the suspended chairman, Austin Agada to actualize th plot..
Recall that the factional chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Benue state has called for a parallel State Congress to be held on Tuesday.
It was gathered that the Congress will affirm members of the suspended Austin Agada-led faction of the party as the substantive state executive council of the ruling party in Benue state. Vacant positions will however be filled during the ratification of the suspended state officers of the party.
Recall that the National Working Committee of the party under former national chairman Umar Ganduje had in 2024 suspended the state executive council of the party led by Austin Agada as a result of the factional crisis between Governor Alia and Senator Akume.
This action led to the enthronement of Chief Benjamin Omale as the acting chairman of the party in Benue state.
However, the leadership crisis between Alia and Akume wasn’t resolved as the party entered its congresses and national convention two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago as well as last week, the Akume’s camp organized parallel congresses where they produced a different set of Ward and local government executives other than the ones which were produced by the Benjamin Omale-led Caretaker Committee.
Meanwhile, efforts are in top gear to suspend the governor from the APC immediately the parallel state Congress which will be organized by Austin Agada-led faction takes place on Tuesday.
The governor, according to reports will be accused of anti party activities, non payment of his party dues since he assumed duties as governor among some other allegations.
This newspaper gathered that after Tuesday’s parallel state Congress where Austin Agada will emerge again as a factional chairman, some unfounded allegations will be made against the governor on the order of Senator George Akume after which he will be suspended from the party.
