This newspaper can authoritatively report how the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Plus Akutah has been using his office to steal public funds for his flamboyant lifestyle.
According to investigation by this newspaper, Akutah, within few months he assumed duties at the Shippers Council headquarters has fraudulently procured a Bullet Proof SUV which costs N850 million in the local market.
Apart from this, Akutah has acquired more than twenty more exotic SUVs which he is using as a convoy including the Bullet Proof SUV which he earlier bought for N850 million immediately he assumed duties.
Apart from this, Akutah within a short period that he was appointed has acquired three properties worth more than N2billion in Maitama and Asokoro areas of Abuja and two others properties worth N1.8 billion in Banana Island, Lagos State.
Findings by Nigerian Concord Newspaper showed that Akutah’s monthly salary and incentives as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council is far below the over twenty SUVs, a Bullet Proof SUV and the five properties he has acquired with public funds both in Lagos and Abuja.
Apart from stealing Shipper Council’s to live a flamboyant life, Akutah , according to our investigation has been grooming militants in the twenty three local government areas across Benue state in preparation for his planned ambition.
Some staff of the Shippers Council who spoke with this newspaper during the investigation stated that the Executive Secretary is fond of dipping his hands into the treasury of the Shippers Council without due process.
Some of the staff said that Mr. Akutah is stealing public funds to bankroll his planned 2027 gubernatorial ambition in Benue state.
A staff of the legal department of the Shippers Council hinted that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC , ICPC and the Presidency in order to report the multiple corrupt acts of the Executive Secretary.
