Many people will remember Professor Pita Agbese, the US-based professor who always comes on the Social Media to ventilate his anger and frustration each time his American wife throws his things out of their home.
Agbese ‘s newest target is the immediate past governor of Benue state and leader of the State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, HE Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD.
Just yesterday, the Benue-born professor who was three years ago thrown out of their United States residence by his estranged wife for failing to be responsible for their monthly bills came back to the Social Media where he called Chief Samuel Ortom several unprintable names.
To many of us that were aware of the issue between Pita and Ortom prior to the 2019 general elections, the former governor’s sin was that he refused to succumb to the failed Professor’s blackmail.
Agbese had approached the Ortom-led administration with fake proposals and demanded billions of Naira but the former governor declined, having realized that the frustrated professor meant no good with his satanic and fraudulent proposals.
Immediately after his bubbles were bursted, Agbese took it upon himself without being sent by anyone to insult Ortom on daily basis.
The failed Professor however tried to paint a picture that he was being funded by the Buhari-led administration to attack Chief Samuel Ortom but the truth came out when the former president refused to grant his request to be given a federal appointment.
According to Buhari then, there was no place for blackmailers and this forced Agbese to returned back to the United States, and that was after he had incurred a debt of over N4m being his hotel bills. A Benue-born business man that brought him in for the hatchet job abandoned him at the hotel and stopped paying his bills after discovering Buhari’s body language.
But before he left Nigeria disgracefully, Pita Agbese was attacking the former governor and his administration everyday. Several lies were told against Ortom just to ensure that he didn’t win the 2019 governorship election. The will of God and that of the people prevailed. Ortom won his reelection.
Pita Agbese was further disappointed when he got back to the United States and found that his wife had thrown out all his belongings. The wife’s claim was that Pita was not ready to be responsible for their bills.
Fast forward to yesterday’s outing of Pita Agbese on Chief Ortom, the failed Professor was questioning why the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume would agree to once again embrace his son (Ortom).
Why should Pita Agbese be angry that peace is gradually returning to Benue state if not that he is a direct beneficiary of the political crises in the state?
With the peace between Senator Akume and Chief Ortom, a reasonable observer will know that a peaceful relationship between the SGF and Governor Hyacinth Alia is imminent. We trust Ortom, a man of peace, that he will be looking for a way to reconcile the SGF and the governor.
Pita Agbese also spoke against the rising popularity of Chief Samuel Ortom. He said the former governor’s popularity rises each time he appears at a public function. How is that a headache for the failed Professor?
As a former governor who ensured that good governance and dividends of democracy were enjoyed by his subjects for eight years, why should his popularity after leaving office be strange?
In Benue, we have seen a former public functionary who came down from his car at a public function and no one responded to his greetings and waving. It simply means that they are disappointed in his administration. For Ortom, the case is different because the people of Benue are still very grateful to him for his readiness to give his life in his exchange for their safety and security.
Only an ingrate would have forgotten how Chief Ortom took the fight against fulani marauders upon himself. He nearly got killed on his farm in Guma months to the end of his tenure in office as governor. How does Pita Agbese expect the popularity of such man to go down just like that?
Chief Samuel Ortom did well in all areas of governance so his popularity will continue to rise even after office.
In his show of hatred for Chief Samuel Ortom, the failed Professor described him as a “demonic leader”. Let’s ask Pita Agbese, is providing good governance in the areas of massive infrastructures, agriculture, investment, security, education, health, prompt salaries and pensions payments a sign of demonic leadership? If no, then Agbese owes Chief Ortom an apology for calling him that name.
On the issue of pensioners that Pita Agbese mentioned in his satanic article, who doesn’t know that the former governor inherited salary arrears and pension of several months from his predecessor in 2015? And who doesn’t know how the former governor tried by paying off these debts he inherited?
For now, I will rest my case but, I want to advise Professor Pita Agbese to allow peace in Benue state.
