The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has once again demonstrated its numerical strength, capacity, and quality capable of returning to power in Benue State come 2027 at their just-concluded expanded state caucus meeting at SESE Events Park, Makurdi today.
The leader of the party in Benue State and immediate past governor of the state, Chief Samuel Ortom, while speaking at the meeting, declared that with the crème de la crème of personalities and the enthusiasm displayed by the mammoth crowd at the meeting, he was convinced that the party will reclaim power in the state come 2027.
Chief Ortom, who is also a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, said the party is not involved in any form of coalition with any political party at the moment, and members of the party who are yet to resign their membership but have openly declared for the coalition should be expelled from the party forthwith.
He assured party faithful that he, the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Dr. Patrick Abba Moro, and other leaders are united and more committed to providing quality leadership to the party, expressing confidence that the party will regain power in 2027 now that all lingering disputes have been amicably resolved.
On his part, Senator Moro said the unfortunate thing about the ADC is that it is a party of uncertainty, and those moving from PDP to the party, giving excuses that there is a crisis in the PDP, should be regarded as people moving to the unknown.
Dr. Moro noted that the disputes in the PDP are very minor issues that will be sorted out with time, insisting that the only party with a winning culture is the PDP.
State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, in his opening remarks, said those who keep insinuating that the PDP is dead are daydreaming and should wake up to reality, as the party is waxing stronger day by day.
While Ambassador Chive Kaave delivered a goodwill message for the people of Zone A, Dr. Laha Dzever spoke for Zone B, and Elder Elijah Amali for Zone C.
Other goodwill messages came from PDP National Chairmanship aspirant Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan, Rt. Hon. Agom for members of the Benue State House of Assembly, and PDP gubernatorial aspirants Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Dr. Oyije Ogbenjuwa, Dr. Tersoo Loko, and Rt. Hon. Dominic Ucha.
